Intervention Outline assignment Instructions
Overview
As the health program planners, you have developed a mission, goals, and objectives for your program. Now, we need to decide on the most appropriate way to accomplish those goals and objectives in your community, college, or worksite setting.
You must now develop interventions for your objectives. Interventions are planned actions to achieve your objectives. Interventions that include several activities are more effective than single events. Interventions that use a socio-ecological approach are often the most successful. Your interventions need to allow you to reach your objectives and goals competently and realistically.
Most interventions can be placed into broader categories called strategies. Common Strategies include:health communication strategies, health education strategies, health policy/enforcement strategies, environmental change strategies, health-related community service strategies, community mobilization strategies, and other strategies. The course text provides detailed examples of each strategy.
Example of Interventions: (from Iwoa Department of Public Health)
Goal: Prevent and reduce the level of obesity in Iowans through improved nutrition, physical activity,and supportive environments.
Objective – Environment: By 2025, increase the number of worksites offering employer-sponsored nutrition educational programs and healthy eating policies by 10% from baseline.
Interventions:
1. Increase employer knowledge of worksite wellness components and options such as nutrition, physical activity, and tobacco use prevention and cessation
2. Promote the development of worksite programs that address nutrition opportunities through partners such as the Iowa Wellness Council
3. Work with partners such as the Iowa Wellness Council to establish a recognition system for worksites that make significant improvements in the workplace eating environment.
4. Publicize best worksite wellness practices on the Iowans Fit for Life website

Instructions
Step 1. Analyze the Best and Promising Practices
Analyze the Best and Promising Practices within the field of public health to address your Leading Health Indicator (LHI) topic. There are links to the following resources on the assignment page.
a) Review Current Research on the topic by searing academic journals at the Jerry Falwell Library
b) Review Current Case Study Examples at the Rural Health Information Hub
Step 2. Apply and Select or Apply and Create the Interventions
Apply and select the best and promising practices you discovered in Step 1 or apply and design interventions for your program objectives.
a) Using the Mission Statement, Goals, and Objectives Assignment that you created in Week 3, select or create the interventions you would use to accomplish the objectives.
Step 3. Create an Intervention Outline
Create an outline of your interventions, followed by a short description of how your intervention will be carried out in your chosen setting (i.e., community, workplace, college, etc.). Explain who the target population will be for the interventions.
a) You will add the interventions to your Week 3 Mission Statement, Goals, and Objectives Assignment – as shown in the example above.
b) Note: You will only choose one goal and its objectives from Week 3’s Assignment. You will then add at least one intervention per objective. You will finish the other goal’s interventions before you submit the final program plan, but it not required for this Assignment.
c) After adding the interventions, explain who the target population will be for the interventions.
d) Provide a short description of how your interventions will be implemented.
Step 4. Use ChatGPT
Use ChatGPT to develop Interventions for your program. Compare this to your original work.

Step 5. Revise your Original Work with ChatGPT recommendations.
After using ChatGPT for recommendations, revise your original work to create the best possible interventions for your public health project.
Step 6. Submit
In one document, you must submit your original work, the ChatGPT recommendations, and then your final reversion of the mission statement, goals, and objectives. This will show your original work, the recommendations of ChatGPT, and the final combined product in one document.
The Intervention Outline paper must be limited to no more than 750 words (3 pages), exclusive of references. The current AMA citation style must be followed.
