Activity 4: Effects of Globalization (100 points)
This Activity is comprised of two (2) parts. Your Activity responses should be both grammatically and mechanically correct, and formatted in the same fashion as the Activity itself. If there is a Part A, your response should identify a Part A, etc. In addition, you must appropriately cite all resources used in your response and document in a bibliography using APA style. (100 points) (A 3-day list and a 3-page paper are required for the combination of Parts A and B.)
In order to move from a domestic marketing position to a global marketing position within your firm, you realize you need to learn more about globalization. As a result, you have begun to increase your reading of international articles in domestic publications and in international news sources. With this increased knowledge, you are beginning to see how globalization affects other people and other companies. Now it is time to learn how globalization is affecting your personal life and the company where you work.
Part A Starting when you wake up one morning, record everything global that affects your personal life, from the make of your alarm clock, to every piece of clothing you wear that day, to the news sources you listen to or read, to the goods you purchase at the grocery store and/or other stores, etc. In your professional life, record how globalization is affecting your company. Do this for three (3) days.
NOTE: These days do not have to be consecutive days. (If you are currently not working, then interview three (3) people who work for three (3) different companies about the affects of globalization on their companies.) (10 points)
Part B Analyze your findings. In a 3-page paper, select at least five (5) ways globalization has affected your personal life and five (5) ways globalization has affected your professional/business life (or the lives of the three (3) people from the three (3) companies you interviewed). In the conclusion of your paper, propose five (5) summary points about the general impact of globalization in the world. (80 points)
This Activity will also be evaluated in terms of your use of mechanics (grammar, punctuation, and spelling) and formatting. (10 points)
