charts. Now read the following: A light bulb manufacturer keeps
track of the length of use of its light bulbs that it produces by
choosing random samples and testing. Why would they find it
necessary to keep this data? Why would it be necessary to know this
information? What would happen if a consumer purchased a package of
light bulbs and three out of four of them burned out after 200
hours of use when the package states that each bulb should burn for
500 hours? Would you predict that the consumers would return the
package for a refund or exchange them for another package from the
same company?
