The Course Capstone Project is a research and analysis project you will work on for the duration of this course. The product of your research will be a 5- to 8-page paper in which you analyze 1 of the 5 dimensions of public health from historical eras to today. You will select a dimension, research its origins and history, and describe its current methods, tools, and careers. Finally, you will prepare a paper detailing your findings to provide a comprehensive look at this aspect of public health.

Your assignment this week is to choose a dimension of public health and begin researching the dimension.

Review “How to write a research proposal?” from the University Library as needed. 

Choose 1 of the 5 basic dimensions of public health:

• Biostatistics
• Environmental health sciences
• Epidemiology
• Health policy management
• Social and behavioral sciences

Explore the dimensions in your textbook and on the internet.

• What are its goals?
• How does it relate to and what is its importance to public health overall?
• What interests you most about this dimension?

Identify the core elements and essential services in public health that align with the dimension of public health you chose. 

Format your research as a 350- to 700-word paper. 

Cite at least 2 source references in APA format.
