Select 1 of the sample summaries and critiques of epidemiologic studies featured in Ch. 14, “Critical Review of Epidemiological Studies” of Essentials of Epidemiology in Public Health, which you can access via this week’s Learning Activities folder.

Then, respond to the following in a minimum of 175 words:

• What was the context of the study? What were the objectives of the study?
• Describe the source of the study population, process of subject selection, and sample size.
• What type of study was conducted?
• What were some of the study limitations?
• Discuss any areas where bias (e.g., information, selection) or confounding might have occurred. What provisions were made to minimize their influence? How did the researchers address these?
• Can the results be generalized to the larger population? Why or why not?
