Purpose: To argue coherently and in an informed fashioned for or against a particular issue, in this case the best weapon to use during a Zombie Apocalypse.
Students will read as much background information as necessary on the topic, either from websites focused on the Zombie Apocalypse or general weaponry. Students will decide which weapon they wish to argue for and will write a short research paper that combines persuasive techniques (emotional appeal) with argumentative strategies (logic).
In addition, students will cite from films watched in class [Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead 1978,] in addition to sources on weaponry.
This essay must be 48-60 lines long((1300-1500words), triple-spaced using 12 point Times New Roman font, with 1 inch margins. The essay should include an MLA Heading on the first page only and a works cited page. Additionally, students should use fifteen (15) instances of borrowed material (direct quotations, paraphrases, and summaries) in the essay, and each borrowing should be correctly cited with blending and parenthetical references
