physicians, nurses, and other nonphysician providers in your state.
Part 2: List the academic qualifications and continuing education
requirements for licensure or certification for at least 3 provider
types, as specified by your state’s Department of Health Web site. The
following are some examples that can be used:
•MD/DO – Medical Doctor/Doctor of Osteopathy
•ARNP – Nurse Practitioner
•RN – Registered Nurse, CRNA – Nurse Anesthetist
•PA – Physician Assistant
•PT - Physical Therapist
•OT – Occupational Therapist
•RT – Respiratory Therapist
•PTA – Physical Therapist Assistant
•COTA – Occupational Therapy Assistant
•LPN – Licensed Practical Nurse
Part 3: Discuss why each state has its own licensure or certification
requirements for health care professionals as it relates to each
profession’s practice act.
Part 4: In summary, describe some of the implications that may occur
to patients and the organization (hospital) if you credential a newly
hired health care professional incorrectly.
Your paper should be 2–3 pages excluding the cover page, abstract
page, and reference page. Be sure to support your work with at least 3
academic or professional peer-reviewed sources published within the past
5 years.
