The Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO)

The Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO) is an institution that five private sector organizations formed in 1985 to combat corporate fraud. The commission came up with five components of the SOCO framework. They are the control environment, control activities, risk assessment, information and communication and monitoring.
